Sam Neely Videos

During my career I've made several videos.  Seems like all musicians have to have one today.

Doing a music video requires a lot of coordination and timing.  The preparation of a story line and script takes a lot of time to work out.

Taping part of the pawn shop scene for the "This Ain't It" video

Visiting and selecting sites that will be appropriate for each scene, obtaining permission to tape at each site, and finally, doing the actual taping.

We've included below a few photos of the locations and some of the individuals involved with the making of the video.  We hope that you enjoy them.

The Making Of The "This Ain't It" Video

The song selected for the video is "This Ain't It".  It is one of the songs on the CD titled "Sam Neely".  The taping took place in and around Corpus Christi, Texas.

The video of "This Ain't It" was produced and directed by an old friend of mine, Tabby Crabb.  Tabby has been in the music business all of his life.  Tabby was in Mickey Gilley's band during the filming of Urban Cowboy.  He is the owner of Flatwood Studios and Video Productions in
Lebanon, Tennessee.  Visit Tabby's home page by clicking HERE.  It was fun to work with Tabby.

We would like to thank the following companies and individuals for allowing us to tape at their locations and to help us to tell the story of Ernie:

The story behind "This Ain't It":

Ernie is a guy who tries many different types of jobs to make a living.  Throughout his life, he tries fishing in the Laguna Madre, farming, selling pigs, and finally, he becomes the owner of an old pawn shop.  At the conclusion of the song, you have to ask yourself; "Is this it?"

In the video, Sam opens a photo album and begins to tell his daughter the story of Ernie.  His daughter falls asleep and she dreams the story as sung by Sam.
