She told me she would, hurry back.
Now I'm sittin' here sippin', on a six pack.
Her mama's house, it ain't that far.
And my hot baby's, got a fast car.

It wasn't much just a, little spat,
And I really didn't think, too much of that.
But this time, she had a funny smile,
She must've been planning this, for a while.

(Chorus)

She ain't coming back, naw she ain't coming back.
Well my hot mamma's on a fast track,
And I do not think, that she's coming back.
She's not coming back, ooh, ooh
She's not coming back, ooh, ooh

Well I don't know just, what to think,
Bout all those dishes, piling up in the sink.
She's bound to know, I need a coffee cup,
Now I'm startin' to think, shoot, I'm out of luck.

(Chorus)

Now I don't mind this, wrinkled shirt,
Heck the boy's won't care, down at work.
I've seen one or two, they look a lot like me,
And I bet they're waitin' round, just to see.

If they're baby's coming back, naw they ain't coming back.
Well they're hot mama's on a fast track,
And I do not think, that they're coming back.

(Repeat Chorus)

There's a note, sittin' right by the bed,
Each and every word's, locked in my head.
I must have read this note, a thousand times.
Every word I took, and underlined.

(Chorus)

This old note, and me,
It's keeping me company.
It says, you're gone, left us alone.
This old note, and me.

It tag's along, where-ever I go,
And it stay's with me, so I'll always know.
I'd never let it sit, and wait there at home,
Cause I know how it feels, to be alone.

(Chorus)

It's always there beside me,
In the place, that you used to be.
It always tells me, how you said goodbye.
It wouldn't lie.

I'd never tear it up, and throw it away,
That note and I have seen, lot better days.
I've grown accustom, having it hang around.
A small reminder, we're the talk of the town.

(Chorus)

There's Danger Ahead
By: Sam Neely, Mike Gregory  BMI

I can still see that old China Berry tree, standing tall in the wind, looking down at me.
And it's dangling ammunition, only fueled my ambition,
To be a big star, in those china berry wars.

I can still hear my mama, yellin'; "Get in the house.
Before I get a switch, now don't make me come out"
And I can see my friend Teddy, laugh all the way home.
Cause he knew that my mama, had an arm made of stone.

(Chorus)

I'm a son of the south, well slap my knee.
Y'all hush your mouth, sit a spell with me.
I talk with a drawl, come see us, you all.
There can be no doubt, I'm a son of the south.

I can still see my daddy's gray Stetson hat,
All stained from his sweat, he never cared about that.
But when it came Sunday, he pulled the good one out.
You'd have to be from the south, to know what that's all about.

(Chorus)

Well life it goes on, and time's surely change.
Old Teddy's now gone, and dad's passed away.
And mama, she's living with us here at home.
We wouldn't dare let our mama, live all alone.

(Chorus)

There's no shred of a doubt, I'm a son of the south.

I don't know why, I take up every time,
With the most reckless one's, that I can find.
This road ain't easy, It's rocky instead.
And I can tell, there's danger ahead.

(Chorus)

There's, danger ahead.
It don't come easy, it never did.
The light's are flashing, I think I see red.
And I can tell, there's danger ahead.

I'm headed for a heartbreak, I'm burning up in flames.
With every thing to lose, and nothing to gain.
It would've been better, I should've stayed in bed.
Cause I can tell, there's danger ahead.

(Chorus)

I don't believe, I want any more.
I think I've had enough, of this old gravel road.
And this road ain't easy it's, rocky instead,
And I can tell, there's danger ahead.

(Chorus)

The light's are flashing, I think I see red.
And I can tell, there's danger ahead.

I can ride that train, anywhere.
Somewhere down the line, I don't care.
I'm leaving here, and I ain't looking back,
This time I'm gone babe, and that's a fact.

Just watch my flame I'm, on that midnight train.
I'm a nervous wreck, here I go.
I hear the whistle, everybody get on board.
Well I don't know, if it's me or you,

I just know, that we are through.
Just watch my flame I'm, on that midnight train.
Ooh, ooh, midnight train. Ooh, ooh, midnight train.
Well I don't know, where I might go,

But you can bet, It's down the road.
Just watch my flame, I'm on that midnight train.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, I'm on that midnight train.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, I'm on that midnight train.
Here I go.

Here I am again, Lost in your arms, but I’m only dreaming.
Lying here alone, I never would have known,
That you'd ever leave me.

Here, with all that used to be, when you were loving me,
And holding me so tightly.
But here I am again, missing my friend,
And finding, that's so easy.

I never thought I'd see, you without me.
Now I don't want to be free.
But of, I know you had to go, but how was I to know,
That leaving, was so easy.

(Chorus)

No, it's hard to let go,
And I never, never, never thought you'd leave me.
No, it just goes to show,
Sometimes it's never ever really meant, to be.

Now, here I am again, But it's only the wind,
Trying to deceive, me.
Not knowing, what to do, thinking that's it's you,
Lying here, with me.

But oh, it's time to let you go, but how, I don't know,
I know, it won't, be easy.

(Chorus)

(Repeat Chorus)

So here I am, again.

Love Carries On

What Am I Supposed To Do?
By: Sam Neely, Mike Gregory, Jason Neely  BMI

No one ever knows what to say, maybe you just turn and walk away.
The pushing finally comes to shove, you think you've fallen out of love,
It might be for the best, just to go.

Now you finally cross that line. It don't seem like it's worth the time.
You hear those footsteps down the hall,
You're thinking you should chunk it all,
There's something, that I think you should know.

(Chorus)

Love carries on, After everything is gone.
Even if you're far apart, and crying with a broken heart,
After all is said and done.
Love carries on, it don't care, who's right or wrong.

All it know's is once it starts, it's always there inside your heart,
After all is said and done, love carries on.
There's somebody fallen by the side, he's lost everything and his pride.

He was once, a working man, now he's living hand to hand,
And all he is, is cold and alone.
No one ever knows what to do,
If you look real close, he's someone like you.

Stare him straight into the eyes, maybe he will realize,
There's something that I think he should know.

(Chorus)

(Repeat Chorus)

If you'd only given me, some tears to cry,
just enough to toughen this old heart.
A cross word, every now and then, well at least that'd be a start.
But just like lightning out of the blue.
You decided that we are through.

You walked away, not a word to say. What am I supposed to do?
If you'd only talked to me a time or two.
Instead you held it inside. Then maybe I would have had a clue,
how to make it alright.

But there's no doubt, and it's painfully clear.
I think it's too late, cause you're not here.
I've got these blues, down to my shoes.
What am I supposed to do?

I could sit back, and take it on the chin,
Or, just go crazy, every now and then.
But that makes no sense, why should I choose?
Cause I know I've got, way too much to lose.

It's a no win game, no one's to blame.
What am I suppose to do?
If you'd only given me, some tears to cry.

Just enough to toughen this old heart.
A cross word, every now and then.
Well, at least that'd be a start.
What am I supposed to do?

That's All I've Got To Say (About That)

Call Me
By: Sam Neely, Mike Gregory  BMI

I ran all, the way home. Just in time to see my best friend move on.
Mom and dad said; "Well it's alright. He'll keep in touch, I'll bet he'll probably write."
But it's been years, I did not hear.
That's all I have to say about that.

I grew up, then I went away. I joined the Army, but I did not stay.
I moved around, from town to town.
And like a restless wind, I could not slow down.
I often think, bout going back.
That's all I have to say about that.

(Chorus)

I can't take nothing back.
I've lived how I've lived, that's a fact.
I guess I slipped off that track.
That's all I have to say about that.

I told mom and dad; "well it's alright."
I'll keep in touch, and I'll probably write.
So many years, they did not hear.
That's all I have to say.

(Chorus)

That's all I have to say.
These crazy times, these crazy days
So many lost, and searching, for a way.
Turn on the T.V., we're fightin' more and more.
And we never, no we never, cried so much before.

Over and over, raising our hands.
Finding any reason, for taking any stand.
I know it's a struggle, from day to day,
But it don't always, have to be that way.

(Chorus)

Call me, if you need me, I'll be right along.
I'll be there to hold you, if everything goes wrong.
I won't need a reason, to take you in my arms.
Call me if you need me, I'll be right along.

I know there's somebody, crying in the rain.
With so many mountains, standing in the way.
But it won't be long, there'll be a brighter day.
You'll turn around, someone will say,

(Chorus)

(Repeat Chorus)
