About Taliesyn Music

Who or/what is Taliesyn? Taliesyn was a man. He was a Celtic who lived in the sixth century, and he was responsible for the entertainment of King Arthur's court. What better name than Taliesyn! If you're a fan of 60's rock, then you may remember an album by Deep Purple entitled "The Book Of Taliesyn". The Spelling of Taliesyn varies. We have also seen Taliesyn spelled Taliesin.

Taliesyn Music was formed in 1995, when Mike Gregory and Ralph Wranker were asked by Colorado Computer Creations to provide music for an up-coming computer game, History Of The World (HOTW).

Colorado Computer Creations is well known in the industry, and they wrote one of the classic computer strategy games, High Command. It was a privilege to have worked with these highly talented individuals.

HOTW became the launching point for Taliesyn Music. It took about one and one-half years for the HOTW programming to be completed. During the summer of 1997, HOTW was released.

With the initial release of HOTW, Mike and Ralph determined that to provide a full service to clients they needed a singer/songwriter that was well known in the recording industry. Mike played with one such singer/songwriting star, Sam Neely. They decided to approach Sam and see if he would be interested in joining the company.

After several meetings, Sam agreed to become a co-owner of the company. When he became a co-owner, he brought to the company the needed savvy and the valuable knowledge of the music business.

Sam has had thirteen songs on Billboard's Top 40 hit list, written title songs for two movies, appeared on major television shows, such as Nashville Now, Midnight Special, Dick Clark's American Bandstand, Merv Griffin, etc. Sam also brought the talents of his son to the company, Jason Neely. Jason's guitar technique can easily be rated among the best in the business. With the addition of Sam Neely, Taliesyn Music has more than 100 years combined experience in the music business.
