For
many years Five Card Draw worked to
fulfill a dream of completing their
first CD. Grandpa's Star is
the culmination of their efforts to
complete that dream.
Five Card Draw is often called "The
Best Deal in Country Music",
and they are just that. They
are known for the excitement they
create both on and off the stage.
|
The
energetic and accomplished country band has
been pleasing enthusiastic two steppers with
live dance music for 15 years and has opened
for many popular country stars such as:
Brad Paisley, Pat Green, Radney Foster, Gary
P. Nunn, Steve Wariner, Charlie Daniels, George
Jones, Trisha Yearwood, Pam Tillis, Highway
101, John Anderson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ronnie
Milsap, Mark Chesnutt, Ricochet, Bellamy Brothers,
The Wilkinsons, Wade Hayes, and Big And Rich,
just to name a few.
Five Card Draw stays on top of contemporary
country trends, as well as some well-turned
country classics and classic rock 'n roll.
Alfred and Roger Tumlinson grew up listening
to country music by Merle Haggard, George Jones
and some Bob Wills. They have always been involved
in numerous choirs including church and school.
They took the first step to fulfilling their
dream by starting the band 15 years ago.
While Alfred and Roger are the vocalists for
the band, Alfred also plays the guitar and Roger
plays the guitar and the fiddle.
The other members of the band are Robbie Johnson,
piano; Alex Bayarena, guitar; Walter Presley,
bass guitar; Dale Phillips, drums; and George
Crawford, fiddle; and Gary Carriger, steel guitar.

Five
Card Draw, led by Alfred and Roger Tumlinson, has now
completed yet another dream. The release
of their first CD, Grandpa's Star in November of 2000.
It has captured the attention of their current and new
fans. One of the singles from the CD, "I'm
Not Over You", can be heard on 97.5 KFTX Real Country,
and KOUL 103.7 Corpus Christi, Texas radio stations.
You can bet when you attend one of their shows you have
been entertained by "The Best Band in South Texas".
Five Card Draw's
new CD; "Grandpa's Star" was produced by Sam
Neely. The album was recorded at Taliesyn
Music.
